Begin with clarity, not conclusion. Describe what is in front of you before you evaluate it. Resist the impulse to start with an opinion about whether it is good or bad.
Proverbs 18:13
To answer before listening — that is folly and shame.
Step 2 of 7 • Language
What language is being used?
Language reveals framework. The words chosen to explain a practice tell you how its source is being understood. Select any terms you have encountered, then reflect on how they are being used in this specific context.
2 Corinthians 11:3
I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

The question is not whether a word is used. The question is how it is defined and what it is pointing you towards. Language that sounds familiar does not guarantee an aligned framework.
Step 3 of 7 • Source
Where is the source?
This is the foundational question. Effectiveness does not sanctify source. Something can produce a real result and still draw from a framework that is not rooted in Christ.
John 15:5
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Central — He is clearly the source of transformation
Present but unclear — He is referenced but not central
One component within a wider system
Not mentioned
A method may support a process. It should not replace the source. If God is present but not central, the framework has not been built on Him — He has been added to it.
Step 4 of 7 • Layers
What is actually happening?
Different things can occur simultaneously within one experience. Discernment requires separating the layers rather than attributing everything to a single source. What is real and what is being claimed are not always the same thing.
1 Corinthians 2:14
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
Relief can come from multiple sources at once. Correctly identifying where an experience came from is not the denial of what was real. It is the work of discernment.
Step 5 of 7 • Dependence
What is this leading you to rely on?
Over time, every framework produces a pattern of dependence. This question reveals the direction of formation, not just the quality of an immediate experience. It is often where the most honest answer becomes visible.
Psalm 62:5 & 8
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
Deeper reliance on God
A method or process
A practitioner or teacher
An internal state or feeling
Unclear — this needs further examination
Step 6 of 7 • Caution
What requires caution or clarity?
Note anything that feels unclear, blended, or that raises questions. This is not a verdict. These are areas that require further prayer, Scripture, and reflection before you proceed or recommend to others.
Hebrews 5:14
Solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Blended frameworks without clear distinction
Vague or undefined spiritual language
Strong claims without biblical grounding
Healing or transformation attributed to the method itself
The Holy Spirit unnamed or absent from the process
Spiritual authority assigned to a created object or practice
Direction or guidance sought outside of Scripture and prayer
A spirit is invoked without being named as the Holy Spirit
Step 7 of 7 • Response
How will you respond?
Choose your next step with intention. Not from urgency, not from what others around you are doing, and not from the pressure to have a quick answer. From clarity.
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Proceed with peace
Pause and pray before deciding
Seek further understanding through Scripture
Ask specific questions before committing
Step back — this is not aligned
This framework supports discernment. It does not replace it. Remain led by the Holy Spirit, anchored in Scripture, and grounded in truth.
Reflection Complete
Your Kingdom Alignment Summary
This is your reflection, not your final conclusion. Take what you have observed before God. Search the Scriptures. Clarity grows with practice and with the leading of the Holy Spirit.
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
